SPRINT METAL history

Our history goes back to the foundation in 1933 by Willi Vongehr and Rudolf Pack and thus represents a long experience in the production of fine wires.

As early as in 1935 fine wire was drawn to 50 μm, followed in 1939 by weaving wire in the diameter range up to 35 μm. The incorporation by the French SPRINT METAL S.A. took place in 1978, the renaming as SPRINT METAL EDELSTAHLZIEHEREIEN GmbH in 1981.

Since 2006, SPRINT METAL via its French mother company Ugietch S.A., is an integral part of Swiss Steel Group, the worldwide market leader in the area of stainless long products.
